• Puppy and Kitten Wellness

  Our doctors feel it is extremely important to perform at least two physical exams on your puppy or kitten to: Check growth and development Check teeth and dentition Make sure our pet is on proper preventive care Make sure your pet doe not have any heart or lung abnormalities Address any behavioral issues Make sure the reproductive system is developed. • Annual Physical Exams

  Your dog or cat is unique!  It is our goal to provide the highest quality and most up to date medicale care.  Recent research has shown that dogs and cats are like humans and should receive immunizations based upon their individual needs.  When you arrive for your visit, we ask you to take a few moments to complete a brief questionnaire to help our team assess which vaccines are necesary for your pet.  As your pet's lifestyle may change from year to year, we will review his/her needs annually.

• Geriatric Physical Exams

• Anesthesia

  Proper monitoring is a critical part in anesthetic procedures. At the DeBary Animal Clinic, we pay close attention to detail in the monitoring your pet’s vital statistics while under anesthesia. Surgery is never performed without trained technicians monitoring heart rate, blood pressure, temperature, oxygenation, and the amount of carbon dioxide. We are recommending that all of our anesthesia candidates have pre-operative blood work drawn within one month prior to anesthesia to alert our doctors of any anesthetic risks.

• Dental Care

  Dental and periodontal diseases are the most common diseases inflicting our pets today. It has been estimated that 85 percent of all dogs and cats suffer from dental problems. Often dental diseases such has excessive plaque and tartar or fractured teeth can lead to gingivitis and the loss of teeth. Bacteria trapped in the teeth and gums can also spread to other organs such as the liver, heart, and kidneys causing organ infection and or failure. Since teeth are like icebergs where most of the tooth is below the gum line, problems can be occurring without any visual evidence. With the aid of taking dental x-rays, we can identify problems that we could not see with our eyes. Regular dental examinations and cleanings can help prevent tooth problems before they occur and preventive care can help your pet live longer, healthier, and pain-free lives.

• Surgery

  We perform quite a lot of surgical procedures at the DeBary Animal Clinic. Our surgeries range from measures to control the animal population such as castrations and spaying to advanced exploratories and growth removals. Our staff and doctors will be happy to discuss surgical options and to provide you with a treatment plan estimate and go over any questions that you might have. We do stress pain management at the DeBary Animal Clinic and your pet’s comfort level post surgery is carefully considered.

  The DeBary Animal Clinic utilizes it’s own in house pharmacy is stocked with commonly used animal medications. Having an in house pharmacy adds convenience by reducing the additional step of having most of your prescriptions filled at an outside pharmacy.

• Laboratory

  At the DeBary Animal Clinic, we have ability to run get the results of heartworm tests, fecal exams, pancreatitis tests, feline leukemia, and feline immunodeficiency tests in the matter of minutes. This is an added convenience to the diagnosis and treatment of potential problems.

• Nutritional Counseling

  Obesity is growing problem in our pets. Weight problems are more common than you think. A pet is considered overweight if it is 5% to 19% above its ideal weight. An obese pet is 20% or more above its ideal weight. Pets that are obese can have joint problems, breathing problems, heart disease, and skin problems. The DeBary Animal Clinic takes steps to identify pets that are not in their ideal body frame and the plan and means to achieve it. Together, we can help get the weight off and provide a happier and healthier lifestyle.

• Boarding / Bathing

  We offer boarding for cats and dogs for our established clients. We strive to make your pet feel comfortable in their home away from home while they are here. We provide walks multi times each day for the dogs and large cat condos for the kitties. Although not necessary, owners are encouraged to bring their own food to accommodate their pet. After an extended stay of 2 nights, each dog receives a complementary bath, nail trim, and anal gland expression prior to leaving. Our staff is trained to identify any unusual behavior and to alert a doctor for an examination. Please contact us to inquire about boarding requirements. We do also offer baths and medicated shampooing of pets. Please ask for more information.
